Explore the amazing island world of St Michael’s Mount and discover legend, myth and over a thousand years of incredible history…

Stroll across the causeway where a legendary giant once walked. Follow the footsteps of pilgrims. Boat hop to an island where modern life meets layers of history. Discover a medieval castle, a sub-tropical paradise and a close-knit island community. Delve into the history of an island, a priory, a harbour and a home.

Stray from the mainland on foot or by boat and get up close to the beguiling beauty of the castle-topped isle standing proud in Mount’s Bay. Come ashore for a family outing, a tour of the castle or a garden visit. Scale the fairytale turrets for dazzling views and hear of the vision of the Archangel St Michael, who allegedly appeared in the year 495 to fishermen. Tuck into fresh local food in the Island Café or the Sail Loft Restaurant or shop in our Island and Courtyard shops with bespoke gifts, food and Cornish crafts.

However you choose to spend your day, come castaway for an island adventure...

Come ashore for a village tour, a taste of island life or to witness a sub-tropical paradise.

Crossing the bay to the sea-bound castle is a mini adventure in itself. Choose to leave the mainland behind on foot or by boat. Walk in the footsteps of pilgrims who have crossed the causeway throughout the ages. Or, when the tide floods over the historic footway, hop onboard a boat and motor into the harbour where trading ships once moored.

To do the Mount justice and enjoy all its different aspects including the journey across, allow 3-4 hours
