The Chestnut Appeal - St Michael's Mount Swim
If you are a strong swimmer and have always wanted to take a swim around the Mount, this is a great opportunity to swim in safety and raise some money for this important South West region charity.
The Chestnut Appeal for Mens’ Health annual one and a half mile swim around the spectacular St Michaels Mount will take place on Saturday 10th August with a swim time of around 13.00. This will be the sixth Chestnut Appeal swim around the mount and it’s a swim that has helped us raise our profile in Cornwall and has seen us attract new supporters.
The St Michaels Mount swim starts on the beach at Marazion where swimmers will set off for the Mount over the causeway swimming through clear waters around the Mount before making a course back to the beach to cheers from friends and family and a welcome pasty.
So if you fancy a new challenge and at the same time raise money to help men with prostate cancer in the region then why not register today.
The swim can be quite a challenge and it is asked that those who take part can complete the distance in a pool and have experience of Open Water Swimming. With potential swell and currents around the back of the Mount, it’s asked that all those who take part have experience of open water swimming and can complete 120 lengths of a 25m pool. Registration for the swim is £35. Your entry fee covers the cost of organising the event, but it’s the money you raise that helps Prostate Cancer patients and their families, so we ask all our St Michaels Mount Swimmers try to raise as much money through sponsorship as possible.
Entry to the St Michael's Mount swim includes; a medal on completion of the swim, full water safety support from Event Water Safety, an event swim cap, water and an end of swim snack.
