Redgate Smithy is a friendly and professionally run B&B in South East Cornwall, and is situated on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor; perfectly situated either for exploring Cornwall, visiting friends or relatives, or for business. The beautiful yet mysterious Golitha Falls are just down the lane. We are also dog friendly for a friendly dog!

Golitha Falls are set in the deep wooded valley of the River Fowey, as it tumbles over steep rapids down from the moor. They are tranquil, yet mysterious; peaceful, yet beautiful and foreboding, all at once. A King of Cornwall died here. Miners have toiled here. It is a place where legend definitely lingers.

There are excellent pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area that we recommend for your evening meals. We have a lovely woodland garden for guests’ use; sit back and listen to the buzzards mewing as they soar overhead! Guests are free to use our large conservatory at any time, and we have comfortable beamed, well equipped cottage style bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own Freeview Digital TV, Free Superfast FTTP Wi-fi access, and tea & coffee making facilities.

Bodmin Moor is the hidden heart of Cornwall, and has a rich, rugged and beautiful landscape and heritage, including rugged tors, ancient Neolithic sites and stone circles, and World Heritage Cornish Mining Sites.

We are easily accessible from both the A30 on Bodmin Moor, and the A38 from Liskeard. Children over 12 welcome. One or two friendly dogs welcome. Off-road parking.
