The Savoy is an independent cinema located in the town which opened in 1912, and is the longest continually running cinema in Britain. It was originally named the Victoria Music Hall. Prior to World War II, Penzance was also home to a further 3 cinemas and at least 2 theatres.
Nowadays, the Savoy cinema shows the latest cinematic masterpieces, children's films including a discounted shows on saturdays and sundays. The cinema also shows films from and on behalf of the Penwith Film Society, with tea and biscuits.
The cinema runs a number of cross promotions between its self and the adjoined restaurant and bar upstairs, with offers including a meal, drinks and cinema tickets.
